In a creative step toward sustainable design, Recycledin has unveiled a unique poker set crafted entirely from recycled plastic collected from seas, beaches and landfills across the Mediterranean region. The eco-friendly poker chips aim to transform environmental waste into a functional, everyday product while addressing the growing global plastic crisis.
The company says approximately 2.5 kilograms of recovered plastic are used to produce each set. The collected material is thoroughly cleaned, processed and melted before being molded into smooth, lightweight poker chips that resemble standard casino-grade pieces. Each set includes 300 chips in five different colours, all uniform in size, along with dedicated dealer, small blind and big blind chips. Designed for up to seven players, every set is made to order to prevent overproduction and reduce unnecessary manufacturing waste.
From Ocean Waste to Gaming Table
By repurposing plastic that would otherwise pollute marine ecosystems or remain buried in landfills, Recycledin aims to curb environmental damage while promoting circular design principles. The company believes it is among the first to introduce a poker set made entirely from recycled plastic waste sourced directly from environmental clean-ups.
Environmental studies have consistently shown that recycling plastic reduces greenhouse gas emissions compared to manufacturing new plastic from raw materials. Lower energy consumption and decreased carbon output make recycled production an increasingly viable solution in sustainable product design. In addition, preventing discarded plastic from degrading in oceans helps limit the spread of microplastics, which pose serious threats to marine life and human health.

The eco-conscious approach does not stop at the chips. Recycledin pairs its poker set with eco-edition Bicycle playing cards made from recycled paper, further reducing material waste.
