UP Steps Up Heatwave Battle as Relief Expected Soon

As Uttar Pradesh continues to reel under an intense heatwave, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak has urged people to remain cautious and follow safety measures to protect themselves from the soaring temperatures. With hospitals across the state put on high alert, the government is taking no chances in preparing for potential heat-related emergencies.

Pathak advised residents to limit outdoor activities during peak hours and to carry umbrellas or cover their heads when stepping outside. He emphasized the importance of simple precautions in avoiding heatstroke and related illnesses.

The India Meteorological Department has predicted that some relief may arrive for northwestern India, including Uttar Pradesh, starting June 14, raising hopes that the relentless heat may soon ease.

In Ayodhya, officials have swung into action to safeguard both locals and the influx of tourists visiting the holy city. District Magistrate Nikhil Tikaram Funde has implemented measures like shaded rest areas and water points—not just for people but also for animals—to reduce the impact of the extreme weather.

Alongside the state’s heatwave response, Deputy CM Pathak reflected on India’s broader progress over the past decade. Marking 11 years under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, he highlighted what he described as transformative development across sectors including infrastructure, healthcare, and technology.

For now, the focus remains firmly on weathering this harsh spell as officials urge residents to stay alert and hopeful for cooler days ahead.
